Small Business Management—Working “On” Your Business!
Speaker: Linda Ballasy, MBA, MEd

Many people become small business owners to do work they have skills in or are passionate about. They create a great product or deliver a quality service. However, they find themselves overwhelmed by some or many aspects of managing a business and getting it all done well—financial management, hiring and supervising employees, marketing and sales, and creating efficient/effective systems and processes. In this month’s program, Linda Ballasy will provide a medley of tips and ideas for working more “on” your business rather than just “in” it.

Linda Ballasy is currently an instructor at Rogue Community College's Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and teaches a unique 9-month Small Business Management that combines classroom teaching with individual coaching sessions. Prior to her work with RCC, she served as CEO for Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Northwest Washington in Bellingham, which she turned around financially and organizationally in her first 18 months. She brings experience from a variety of industries including food manufacturing, high tech, education, training, and youth services, with expertise in marketing, management, and financial oversight. Recently certified as a mediator, Ms. Ballasy volunteers with the Jackson County courts. Ballasy holds an MBA in marketing and management and a MEd in counseling.

Wine Country Steak Salad – char-grilled marinated tri tip sliced over seasonal greens with red onion, tomato, blue cheese crumbles, sliced pear, candied pecans, served with a Cabernet dressing, warm sourdough bread and butter, Orange Dream cake and beverage service
*Vegetarian dinner option: Portobello mushroom puff pastry with roasted red pepper and gorgonzola

Call 888-436-2338 for reservations by 9:00 p.m. on Monday, September 8th. Reservations made after this cutoff date cannot be guaranteed. Dinner cancellations must also be received by that date or you will be responsible for payment of the uncancelled dinner.
