Last Chance on Your 2018 Taxes:
Are You Ready for the End of the Year?

Speaker: Jackie Truax

The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 made the most sweeping changes in the tax laws in more than 30 years but have you taken all the steps you need to before the end of the year? These changes include a nearly doubled standard deduction, new limitations on itemized deductions, reduced income tax rates, and more. The changes apply to individuals, families, and small businesses so you may have missed some that apply directly to you.

With the tax year drawing to a close, you need to take action to maximize your benefits and limit your liabilities — while there is still time to make any needed changes in withholding, itemized deductions, tax planning, investments etc.

Jackie Truax will cover the highlights of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act as they affect small business owners and the 2018 filing year. She will also offer practical suggestions geared toward busy professionals regarding bookkeeping, filing, and records retention.

Jackie Truax, CPA, is a partner in Winkelman-Bruce & Truax, LLP, in Medford, Oregon.  She specializes in small business consulting, including tax preparation, bookkeeping, and Quickbooks consulting.

Jackie has a Masters degree in Business Education from Southern Oregon State College and a Bachelor of Science in Business Education from Oregon State University.  She has taught at the high school, community college, and vocational college levels, and continues to enjoy conducting seminars for her clients.  She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Pro Club, Southern Oregon Estate Planning Council, WESO, and is a past president of the Kiwanis Club of Medford.

She and her husband Vince enjoy camping with their four-legged kids Riley and Max.
